Mark Allen Brittain
(April 13, 1962 – December 21, 2015)
Mark Allen Brittain of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Monday evening, December 21, 2015, at his home at the age of 53 years.
Mark Allen Brittain was born on April 13, 1962, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Carroll Lee Brittain. As a young boy he grew up in various communities in northeast Oklahoma. At the age of eight he moved to Blackwell to be with his father and later moved in with his foster mother, Roberta Rush. Following his education he worked in Tulsa for a short time before returning to Blackwell and working for the J. E. Warren Machine Works. He later worked for Nickerson Farms, Electron Corporation and NAPA. He married Kim Denise Darland on November 24, 1981, in Blackwell. In his later years he worked for Domino’s Pizza and Pizza Hut in Ponca City. He also assisted his father in breaking and training horses. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding ATV’s. He also enjoyed working on cars and his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Brittain of Blackwell; his foster-mother, Roberta Rush of Blackwell; two daughters, Whitney Caffey and husband Paul of Broken Arrow, and Candice Brittain of Edmond; a foster-daughter, LaTisha Kelly of Blackwell; a son, Kenneth Brittain and fiancé Amanda Carter of Blackwell; a foster-son, Timothy Cramer of Ponca City; a sister, Denise Christenson of Edmond; foster-sisters, Sally Delaney of Blackwell, Susan Marshall and husband Tom of Edmond, and Barbara Fairchild and husband Roger of Blackwell; a brother, Boyd West Jr. and wife Lisa of Claremore; twelve grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a foster-brother, Chuck Rush.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., December 28th in the West Adair Cemetery in Adair, Oklahoma, with the family of Mark Brittain officiating. There will be no public visitation.
Casketbearers will be Kenny Brittain, Timothy Cramer, Paul Caffey, Chris Martin, Boyd West and Mark Brittain.
A memorial has been established in his honor with the American Cancer Society or KLVV Radio Station in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
