Obituary for Margaret Lechtenberg

Margaret Elizabeth Lechtenberg, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015. She was 88.

The service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 29, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Kevin Ratterman officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

Elizabeth was the first born to Martin Opitz and Nella Bird on May 26, 1926, in Binger. She was educated in Binger Schools; however, during her junior year she attended school at Watonga. She moved with her family to Ponca City where she was first employed at Crown Drug Store. She then attended St. Mary’s Catholic School her senior year where she met Joe Lechtenberg.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Lechtenberg; daughter, Joy Irons; two sons, Mike Lechtenberg and Mark Lechtenberg; grandchildren, Marnie Irons, Lisa Buck, Devon Lechtenberg, Laura Lechtenberg and Josie Lechtenberg; two brothers, Harold Opitz and John Opitz; and sister, Ethel Robbins.

She is preceded in death by parents; daughter, Judy Wechert; sister, Loretta Evans; and brother, Bill Opitz.
