Obituary for Margaret Ethelyn Tew

Margaret Ethelyn Blanchard Tew, resident of Ponca City, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in Ponca City. She was 83.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at Longwood Cemetery with Pastor David Frees officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.

Ethelyn was born July 5, 1931 in Daisetta, Texas to Charles David and Sadie Nadine (Rogers) Blanchard. She graduated from Hull – Daisetta High School in 1949. She married Tommy Tew on December 20, 1967 in Ponca City. Mr. Tew passed away on December 30, 2004.

Ethelyn loved to crochet, she helped making afghans for breast cancer patients. She watched the Food Network Channel everyday and enjoyed OSU and OU football.

Ethelyn was preceded in death by her parents,and her husband Tommy Tew.

She was survived by her daughter, Liz Solorio and husband John; grandson, Trevor Walker; twin sister, Evelyn Yancey; nieces, Becky Slovacek and husband Ed, Denise Clark; great niece, Brandi Clark; great nephews, Michael Slovacek and Daniel Slovacek. her pet Shih Tzu, Cocoa.
