Louise Lickliter Norman
December 26, 1941 ~ July 30, 2021 (age 79)
Louise Lickliter Norman, Ponca City resident, was called to her eternal resting place on Friday, July 30th 2021 at Stillwater Medical Blackwell. She was 79.
Louise was born on December 26th, 1941 at Ponca City Oklahoma, the daughter of Edgar Dee and Dorothy Louise Snyder. She grew up in Ponca City where she attended Garfield elementary and graduated from Ponca City High School.
She worked through high school at Henry’s Shoe Store and T J Cuzalina’s. She then worked as a checker for years for Humpty Dumpty before moving to Bills corner where she worked for OSU and then went to work for Ditch Witch who sent her to Indian Meridian where she graduated with a welding certificate in 1977 and became the first woman welder for Ditch Witch. She soon found she loved welding and later went to work for Koch Nitrogen. In her later years she worked for Walmart in Ponca City and then went on to work her final job at Tonkawa Casino. After finally retiring from the work force she found her biggest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed hot air balloon shows and old western movies especially John Wayne.
She is survived by one son Lance Dee Miller and his fiancé Melanie Burdick of Ponca City; seven grandchildren Michael Ehrlich and his wife Audrey of Russell KS, Crystal Miller of Ponca City, Jennifer Moss and her husband Chris of Ponca City, Sam Miller and his wife Morgan of Ponca City, Zack Miller and his wife Torri of Ponca City, Jamie Cole and her husband Todd of Washburn MO, and Kyle Miller and his wife Christine of Fort Polk, LA; 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Carl Dean Miller, her nephew John Paul Lickliter, her Sister-in-law Betty Elaine Lickliter, her infant great granddaughter Courtney Nicole Miller, and great grandson Isaac Caleb Ehrlich.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 7th 2021 at 10:00 AM at Grace Memorial Chapel in Ponca City, OK.
