Obituary for Lorene Griffin

Georgia Lorene Wilkerson Struble Griffin went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 4, 2015.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2015 at First Church of God with Pastor Marvin Middlebrooks officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Larry Steele Jr., John Steele, Jonathon Struble, Mathew Kliewer, David Westerman II, and Trey Still. Honorary pallbearers will be her great and great, great grandsons, James Ullery, Casey Steele, Dylan Struble, Drake Stiffler, David Westerman III, Everett Shearer, and Rhett Moore.

Lorene was born in Yale, Oklahoma on October 20, 1922. She was the first child of 7 children, born to William and Goldie Moore Wilkerson. Lorene was educated in Eureka County School in Glencoe, Oklahoma a couple of elementary schools in Ponca City, Oklahoma and Jr High and High School in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to John Emmet Struble on December 9, 1939 in New Kirk, Oklahoma. To this union was born Dorothy, John, June, and Stephen. On May 8, 1954 she was united in marriage to John Edward (Eddie) Griffin. To this union was born Vickie and Connie.

She enjoyed traveling, camping and working in her flower gardens, spending time with her 17 grandchildren, her 20 great grandchildren and 4 great – great grandchildren. She was known by her grandchildren as GG, Meme, and Gram.

Lorene was a member of First Church Of God.

She is survived by 6 of her children, John W. Struble and wife Jean, June Steele and husband Larry, Stephen Struble, and Connie Bullington and husband David all of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Vickie Still of Barnwell, SC. She is also survived by one brother William "Bill" Wilkerson of Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, two brothers, three sisters and one grand child.
