Obituary for Lorene Campbell

Freda Lorene Campbell of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Wednesday morning, March 5, 2014, at her home at the age of 84 years.
Lorene Campbell was born on March 28, 1929, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Robert and Emma Jean (Sears) Alexander. As a young girl she moved with her family to Tonkawa where she grew up and attended Tonkawa Public Schools. Her senior year in high school they moved to Blackwell where she graduated from Blackwell High School in 1947. She married John Richard Campbell Sr. on April 1, 1947, in Perry, Oklahoma, and they settled in Blackwell where she served her family as a homemaker. She later began working for Murray’s Grocery Store, Love’s Donut Shop and Wal-Mart. Her husband preceded her in death on November 24, 2011, and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She enjoyed all hand crafts and attending her children and grandchildren’s various activities.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Adams and husband Butch of Blackwell and Linda Beard and husband Kenny of Blackwell; two sons, John Campbell Jr. of Blackwell and Rick Campbell and wife Marilyn of Blackwell; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Ola E. Drake; and two grandchildren, Kenny Beard Jr. and Nikki D. Miller.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 10th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Rev. Matt Smith of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Justin Campbell, Logan Simpson, Brad Severson, Dick Campbell, Todd Boyer and Jeff Boyer.
The family will be at the home of Linda Beard, 901 W. College in Blackwell.
