Lorena June Gose, formerly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Monday, May 28, 2018, in The Chateau in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 93 years and 4 months.
Lorena June Gose was born on January 9, 1925, Pawhuska, Oklahoma, to George B. and Willie M. (Etter) Page. She grew up in Pawhuska and graduated from Pawhuska High School in 1943. Following her education she moved to Oklahoma City where she worked in data processing for Armour Meat Packing. She married Louis Gose on September 11, 1948, in Oklahoma City and they settled there where she served her family as a homemaker. In 1963 they moved to Blackwell and purchased Peddicord’s Jewelry store. Claude Peddicord continued to work with Louis and June for several years. The store would later become Gose Jewelers of which June assisted her husband in the daily operation of the business. The couple operated the business until 2000 when they sold the store to their son, Ralph. In June of 2014 they moved to Stillwater before moving to Lawton in October of 2014. Her husband preceded her in death on April 6, 2016, and she continued to make Lawton her home. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Business Women’s Association and a member of the ladies garden club. She was an avid golfer and gardener and enjoyed planting and caring for flowers both at home and at church.
She is survived by two sons, Roger Gose of Stillwater and Ralph Gose and wife Judy of Blackwell, two daughters, Linda Rycroft of Ada and Cindy Benefield and husband David of Walters; twelve grandchildren; Stephen Gose and wife Lea of Stillwater, Laura Rickman and husband Brian of Stillwater, Tony Gose of Yukon, Toby Gose and wife Lacy of Cincinnati, Randy Gose and wife Monica of Blackwell, Melissa Mims and husband Jason of Kiefer, Brandon Rycroft of Nashville, Rachel Rycroft of Glenpool, Jeff Edgmon and wife Krystal of Walters and Natilee Benefield of Walters; grandsons James and John Sills of Florida; twenty two great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, George, Dale and Dean Page; and a granddaughter, Christy Suarez.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 11th in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Cap McIlnay officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Gose, Jeff Edgmon, Tony Gose, Randy Gose, Toby Gose, Jason Mims, and Brian Rickman. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Brandon Rycroft.
