August 9, 1953 – April 24, 2018
Lonnie Joe Grace of Braman, Oklahoma, died Tuesday evening, April 24, 2018, at his son’s home at the age of 64 years.
Lonnie Joe Grace was born on August 9, 1953, in Elkhart, Kansas, to Clarence H. and Edna L. (McNett) Grace. As a young boy he moved with his family to Braman where he grew up and graduated from Braman High School in 1972. While in school he met his sweetheart and on July 5, 1974, he married Connie G. Neal in Braman and they settled in Blackwell. They later moved to the Loveland, Colorado, area to make their home. He worked as a truck driver for seventeen years for Home Builders Services.
His wife preceded him in death on September 24, 2010. He later returned to Kay County to make his home. He attended the Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, boating, riding his bicycle, weightlifting and any event that was competitive.
He is survived by a son, Toby Grace of Newkirk; his mother, Edna Grace of Blackwell; three brothers, James R. Grace of Kaw City, Gene Grace of Blackwell, and Dewayne Grace of Ottawa, Kansas; a sister, Joyce Barney of Enid; and two grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his father.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 27th in the Braman Cemetery with Bob Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Braman Cemetery.
Honorary casketbearers will be Jody Tapp, James Tapp, Darren Grace and Troy Grace.
