Obituary for Lois Jones

Lois Ida Jones, a longtime resident of Arkansas City, Kansas, found eternal rest on February 2, 2014 in South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center in Arkansas City at the age of 87 years.
Lois was born August 24, 1926, in Braman, Oklahoma, the seventh of nine children born to Charles Thurman and Lucy Emoline (Osborn) Smith. The family moved to Blackwell when Lois was a child and she was educated in Blackwell schools.
On May 20, 1941, Lois and Wallace Armond Jones were married in Medford, Oklahoma. They were married 68 years, until his death June 14, 2009. They had one daughter Janet Armond Davis. Lois and Wallace traveled throughout the United States, following his work on the pipeline.
Lois is survived by a sister Pat Canaday of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Cherokee Liles of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Shannon Harl of Houston, Texas, and Dustin Davis of Virginia Beach, Virginia; ten great grandchildren, Meghan and Mackenzie Liles of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Allison Harl of College Station, Texas, Daphne and William Harl of Houston, Texas, Arielle and Colton Davis of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Danielle Adam Davis of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Baily and Kenny Adam of Virginia Beach, Virginia; nine nieces, Iva Steiner, Cindy Griffith, Barbara Stewart, Debbie Smith, Lisa Canaday, Vicky Hardesty, Lucy Gordon, Janelle Smith, and Betty Jean Falls; four nephews, Jimmy Rymer, Gerald Boring, Monte Boring, Gary Smith; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janet Armond Davis; sisters, Dorothy Boring, Iva Dennis, Darlene Collyar; brothers, Olen Smith, Delmar Smith, Eugene Smith and Jimmie Smith; and a niece Carla Benward.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 5th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Rev. Matt Smith of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Honorary casketbearers will be Dustin Davis, Bill Harl, Tony Liles, Ronnie Steiner, Greg Richardson, Mike Stewart, Kelly Griffith, Allen Hardesty, Monty Boring, Gerald Boring, Gary Smith and John Collyar.
