On Saturday, April 16, 2016, the pain was taken away and Linda was made whole again. Waiting for her were her parents, Jim and Ann Mauk. Linda Kaye was born March 22, 1960 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She attended Ponca City Schools and graduated in 1978. After graduating from Oklahoma State University in 1982 with her Bachelors Degree in Interior Design, she started her business "Decors By Linda".
While continuing her decorating business, she became a one on one Special Ed Assistant and Assistant Librarian at Union Elementary. Linda always thought of others. She had a compassionate, caring, giving, and loving spirit. She had a big heart and a beautiful smile. As her Aunt Nellie would say, "Pretty Is As Pretty Does." Linda was an example of that. She loved her family, the children and staff at Union, her animals, decorating, cooking, and was known for her noodles along with being a gifted seamstress. More than anything, she loved being the wife to Shawn. She met the love of her life on a blind date on March 17, 2006 and fell in love, marrying on November 25, 2006. The time they shared together was an example of true, complete, unconditional Love. Linda had a special bond with her nieces, Crissi Graves, Jordan Jamison, and great-niece, Sequin Lee Graves.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Shawn. In addition, she leaves behind her siblings, who were blessed to have her as a sister – Marsha Mauk, Debbie Loch, Jimmy Mauk, and Diana Weaver, along with numerous cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, and friends.
Her life made a difference to everyone she met. Until we meet again, She’s flying with the angels.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Elementary School Library through Ponca City Public Schools.
