Lillian Eagle

(December 23, 1941 – November 14, 2016)

Lillian Pappan Eagle, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, went to be with Jesus on Monday, November 14, 2016 at her home. She was born on December 23, 1941 to Leland Sr. and Bessie Others Pappan.

She resided in White Eagle with her husband, Doug. She was one of the few elders living in White Eagle and was considered a light and pillar of the community. Family was important to Lillian, she was a homemaker, making sure her family was well taken care of. Lillian never hesitated to help anyone. She truly had a heart of gold and met the needs of others before her own.

She was a lifelong member of Ponca Indian Baptist Church, having walked the short distance there with her mother and siblings as a young girl. Lillian was committed to serving the Lord, as evidenced in the love she showed others. At the time of her passing, she was the church treasurer, a position she held for many years.

Lillian was an OKC Thunder fan. She enjoyed watching The Price Is Right and visiting with her friends and relatives at the Ponca Tribe’s Sr. Citizen center. She loved dining out, especially at Hunan’s and Happy Days cafe. Lillian also liked going to garage sales and thrift stores.

Lillian leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Doug Sr., children; Toni Lena and husband Henson, Doug Jr. and spouse Adele, Toby and spouse Bettie, and Cher Koomsa and husband Danny. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, with one on the way. Also left to cherish her memory are her sister Molly “Amy” Eagle and brother Thomas Pappan Sr. and numerous nieces and nephews, who were all dear to her heart.

Preceding Lillian in death are her parents, brothers; Garland Pappan Sr., Amarbe Pappan Sr., and Leland Pappan Sr., and great-grandson Braylon Long.

Services will be held at Ponca Indian Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 7 pm. The funeral feast will be on Thursday, November 17 at noon followed by service at 2 pm. Brother Eddie Lindsay, Pastor of Indian community Church in Oklahoma City, and former Pastor of Ponca Indian Baptist Church, will officiate. Funeral services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

Pall bearers will be Danny Koomsa, Henson Lena, David Eagle Sr., Thomas Pappan Jr., Garland Pappan Jr., Leland Pappan Jr., and Eugene Pappan.
