Lennis Kay Kelle of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 7, 2017, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 58 years.
Lennis Kay Kelle was born on July 10, 1958, in Blackwell to David D. and Pearl E. (Sayre) Carruth. She grew up in Blackwell and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1976. Following her education she began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Blackwell before working for First National Bank of Oklahoma in Tonkawa. She married Edward M. Kelle on May 5, 1990, in Blackwell. Lennis later worked at Edwin Fair Community Mental Health Center before working as a case manager at Bridgeway in Ponca City. Her husband preceded her in death on August 31, 1993, and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell. She enjoyed reading, baking and attending the annual grand march for the Blackwell prom.
She is survived by two sons, Trevor Kelle and Alex Kelle both of Stillwater; her father, David Carruth of Blackwell; and a brother, Dennis Carruth of Blackwell.
She was also preceded in death by her mother.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 15th at the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Cap McIlnay officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
