Lavanche (Landes) Miner
(November 9, 1926 – January 19, 2017)
LaVanche Landes Miner passed away at the age of 90 at Via Christi on January 19, 2017.
She was born in Dodge City, Kansas on November 9, 1926 to Roy C. and Sara Landes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Dr. Jack Landes and Richard Landes, and one sister, Elizabeth Earnest. She was survived by one sister, Patricia Landes Keast, husband of 62 years, Paul Miner, and numerous nieces and nephews.
LaVanche attended Wichita State University and worked for many years as a Lab Tech, and later, as a placement worker for the Department of Health Services. She was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Dodge City, Kansas. She was an outstanding family member sharing all of her knowledge and talents with the family’s children. LaVanche was caring and supportive to her family as well as her many life-time friends and close family relations. Meeting people with a smile and pleasant personality was her number one asset.
She will be missed by many.
A memorial ceremony will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Ponca City at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017 with Rev. Robert Montgomery presiding. Reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
