Kim Lea Head
November 6, 1956 – March 5, 2018
Kim Lea Meador Head, age 61, long time resident of Braman, continued living life to the fullest without the constraints of a mortal body on Monday, March 5, 2018 at her brother’s house in Ponca City, which she called a piece of “Heaven”.
Friends and loved ones will gather to celebrate her fun life at a ceremony to be held at 2:00 pm, March 9, 2018 at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Blackwell officiated by Pastor Robert Foos of Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church in Holdenville, OK. Following the ceremony, Kim will be laid to rest at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin next to her grandson Larric Wolfe. At Kim’s request, please wear bright and festive attire to the celebration. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Kim was born on Tuesday, November 6, 1956 to Maurice Dean Meador and Ellen “Vicki” Cole Smith in Wichita, KS. Braman has been Kim’s home for most of her life, graduating from high school in Braman in 1975. While in high school, Kim participated on the Track team as well as being a Cheerleader for her school. Cheerleading never left her soul, as she coached her daughters and other cheerleaders in Braman for many years. Being described as the “Queen of Braman”, Kim was deeply involved in community matters, serving as town Treasurer, her family was awarded Braman family of the year, actively planning the Christmas parade and annual craft show, as well as overseeing the Braman Pool, and fundraising every year to keep it going while she was able. Life was an incredible adventure for Kim. Her zeal for enjoying her time here was evident in all she did. Spending time with her daughter Jayme at the hair salon, determining the best hair style and color for Kim provided many good times and conversations. Whether it was a new vibrant hair color or animal print clothing, Kim was all about the flamboyant fashions of our times. Spending time with children was another of Kim’s passions as she reveled in their youthful exuberance. Furry animal friends could count on Kim’s love to care for them, with her big heart adopting many as they entered her life. All of this was alongside her soundtrack, with enjoyable music often accompanying Kim’s journeys. Kim’s warm loving heart, welcoming all that came her way will be missed by all of those blessed to have been graced with her presence.
