Kevin Davis
(August 26, 1957 – January 22, 2016)
Kevin Jay Davis, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away January 22, 2016. He was 58.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, January 27, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Brent McCoy officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Kevin was born on August 26, 1957 to Jay Davis and Rebecca (Ewy) Chambers in Ponca City, OK. He was raised in Ponca City, OK, where he graduated high school in 1975. He would later graduate from OSU, where he became a loyal member of the OSU Cowboy family.
One of his greatest passions was helping other people, so after a few years of working as an accountant at Conoco, he decided to pursue a career as a chiropractor. Kevin opened Davis Chiropractic Clinic in October of 1991, which proved to be a successful practice for 24 years.
He was actively involved in the lives of his kids, grandchild, and other family and friends. Despite his busy schedule, he was always able to make it to every one of his kids’ sporting events. In addition to watching sports, he also loved to play them, especially baseball (in his younger years) and golf.
Perhaps his greatest skill was making people laugh, and no one was exempt from being on the receiving end of one of Kevin’s many practical jokes. His playful spirit and contagious smile was the best cure for a down day or sad mood. He is survived by his granddaughter; Ella Humphrey of Omaha, Nebraska; son, Connor Davis of Stillwater, OK; daughter, Ashley Humphrey of Omaha, Nebraska; mother, Rebecca Chambers of Ponca City, OK, and step dad, James Chambers of Ponca City, OK.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jay Davis.
Honorary casketbearers will be Alan Hardesty, Jeff Ewy, Ron Davis, and Chris Cremers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice.
