Obituary for Katherine J. Thompson

Kathy Thompson, longtime resident of Fairfax, passed away Tuesday, March 4. She was 62 years old.
Kathy was born on August 31, 1951 in Fairfax. She was the daughter of Joe & Ethel White of the Big Bend area. Kathy attended Ralston High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1969. In 1970 she married the love of her life Gary Thompson and together they had three children; Aimee, Kenny & Jennifer. Kathy graduated NOC School of Nursing in 1987. She spent most of her nursing career as an RN providing home health services and was known for her kind and compassionate care. Kathy’s greatest love was her family. She had recently retired and had been spending most of her free time spoiling her 6 grandchildren. She was well loved by many & she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Gary Thompson of Ponca City; one sister, Sharon Gibson of Ralston; one son Kenny Thompson and daughter in law Suzanne Thompson of Fairview; two daughters Jennifer Bernard & son in law Derek Bernard of Wheatland, Ca, and daughter Aimee Snyder and son in law Jason Snyder of Ponca City; 6 grandchildren, Jordan Snyder, Gage Snyder, Colin Thompson, Madilyn Bernard, Sloane Thompson & Audrey Bernard; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by both her parents Joe & Ethel White; two brothers, Donnie & Bobby White; one niece and one nephew.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6 and 8:00 a.m. to NOON Friday, March 7 at the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home in Fairfax.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014 at the First Osage Baptist Church in Fairfax with Rev. George Weston officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Todd Gibson, Ronnie Gibson, Greg Gibson and Joe White II.
