November 12, 1941 – June 13, 2019

Karen Lee (Nutter) Lee passed away on June 13, 2019. She was 77 years old. A ceremony to gratefully remember her life will be held Friday, June 21, 2019, at 2:00pm at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at the funeral home on Wednesday and Thursday, June 19th and 20th until 8pm. Family will be available to greet friends on Thursday, June 20th from 6-8pm. Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

Karen was born to Andrew and Helen Nutter in Hutchinson, Kansas on November 12, 1941. She graduated from high school in Wichita, Kansas. Karen met the love of her life Jimmy Lewis Lee and they were married in Ponca City, OK in 1987. She worked various places over her life: at McDonalds as a server, the VA Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide, and Gott Manufacturing, but her most rewarding activity was raising her family. She was the world’s most conscientious shopper, always able to find the best bargains to be had. Her joyous enthusiasm made her the go-to trip advisor for family vacation planning. She was a camping enthusiast and enjoyed everything from tents to trailers in travel clubs. Her enjoyment of nature made her a naturally gifted gardener. To stay active, she also enjoyed square dancing and social activities. She had a knack for decorating, and would share her creativity whether it be decorating a room, a stage or even a lawn. However, her most treasured activity was generously spending time with her family. She made the most of every opportunity to enjoy life with her beloved grandchildren.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Nutter; mother, Helen Woodman; her step-father, Bryce Woodman; sister, Anne Mehan; daughter, Kathy Jackson; step-daughter, Daphne Lee Coble; and granddaughter, Anita Bilyeu.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Lee; son, Mike Bilyeu; daughter, Becky Bilyeu; son, Tim Bilyeu; step-son, Kevin Lee and Tess; step-son, Fisher Lee and Kristen; brother, Craig Woodman and Lorraine; grandchildren, Jessica Welch, Brooke Bilyeu, Timothy Bilyeu, Kevin Lee, Jr., Nicholas Lee, Elisha Lee, Marcus Lee, Justin Lee, Gerald Jackson, and Jason Jackson; great-grandchildren, Zephaniah Welch, Micah Welch, Nevaeh Lee, Annabelle Lee, and Aiden Lee; and nephews, Daniel Woodman and Matt Woodman.

Casketbearers will be Timothy Bilyeu, Elisha Lee, Marcus Lee, Justin Lee, Kevin Lee, Jr., and Nicholas Lee. Honorary casket bearers will be Tim Bilyeu, Mike Bilyeu, Gerald Jackson, Jason Jackson, Steve Hendrix, Dewey Whittaker, Mark Dickson, and Carl Hicks.
