Jorene Hunsaker
April 20, 1951 – January 9, 2022

Jorene was born on April 20, 1951, in San Angelo, TX, to John and Lorene Brown and moved to Ponca City, OK, at an early age. She graduated from Ponca City High School with the Class of 1969. She married Scott Hunsaker in July of that year. They made their home in Ponca City. From that union was born two sons; Toby Hunsaker of Tulsa OK. and Jeff Hunsaker of Kaw City, OK.
Jorene was passionate about many things. She loved pets and soon took a job with David Kinkaid grooming dogs and helping where needed. Her love for teaching took her to McCord schools where she was a secretary and teachers’ aide, and then later to the Christian Training Center where she met several of her long-time friends. Her final job was working at Staples until her retirement from there in 2017. Her greatest passion was her love for the Lord and being able to witness to others and share her testimonies. She never knew a stranger and was known for taking strangers in, feeding, clothing and more times than not, giving them a place to live. This was Jorene’s way of being able to bring others to Christ.
Jorene loved her grandchildren and often said they were her greatest joy. She loved the times that she could spend with them. She loved her friends dearly and unconditionally, especially Joy, Belinda, Carol, Patsy, Mike and Vicki. These people were her brother and sisters in Christ. Also, were her roommates, Jan and Chris. She loved and prayed for each one of them fiercely.
Jorene is survived by her two sons; Toby and wife, Nicole, of Tulsa, OK., Jeff and wife Karla of Kaw City, OK.; sister, Linda and husband, Ed, of White Mountain Lake, AZ.; her very dear nieces and nephews (whom she loved to take family trips with and where some of the best memories were made); brother, Joseph Terell of Scottsdale, AZ.; sister, Beverly Mutina of Mathis, TX.; grandchildren, Cailley Hunsaker and fiancé, Kyle Bean, Avery Hunsaker, Tucker Hunsaker, Ethan, Logan and Ashton Paul, Grady Wooderson and wife, Kayla, Kait Harmon and husband, Brandon, Kylie Wooderson, Guy Wooderson and wife, Hannah; great-grand blessings, Caden, Emmy, Hazel, Laurel Axeton and Braedon. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jorene was preceded in death by both parents, sister, Glenda Kinzie, her husband Steve, and a brother, Larry Owen.
