John “Joe” Neylon

August 9, 1933 – April 3, 2019

John Joseph Neylon, resident of Ponca City, passed away on April 3, 2019 at Via Christi. Joe was born on August 9, 1933 in St. Joseph, Missouri to his parents Thomas Raymond Neylon and Nellie Juanita Rudder. The family moved to St. Louis in the 1950s. Joe attended St. John Catholic High School and graduated from St. Louis University. He worked for Huffman Refrigerator.

Joe married Janet Giesler on January 18, 1964 at the St. Genevieve Catholic Church in St. Genevieve, MO.
The couple moved to Dallas in 1979. Joe worked for an Overhead Door Corporation. In 1992, the family moved to Ponca City, OK and was the president and CEO of MidAmerica Door until he retired in 2004.
Preceded in death, parents, sister, Virginia Laschober, and brother, Thomas Neylon.

He is survived by his wife, Janet of Ponca City, son, John and family of Houston, TX, daughter, Angela and family of Dallas, TX, son, Tom and family of Dallas, TX, nine grandchildren, brother, Steve Neylon in St. Louis, MO as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Joe’s honor to The Mission, 909 E. South Ave., Ponca City, OK 74601.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Deva Undralla presiding.
