Obituary for Jerry Thomas

Mr. Jerry Lee Thomas, 74, of Goodman, Missouri, departed this life suddenly on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at his residence.
Jerry entered this life on March 26, 1941, in Crane, Missouri, born to the late Raymond Abraham and Corda (Essary) Thomas. In 1951 his family moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he graduated from North High School in 1959. For forty-one years he was employed by Beech Aircraft in Wichita, retiring as supervisor. On June 16, 1963 he was united in marriage to Margo Carver and together they have shared the last fifty-one years. He enjoyed working under the hood of just about any automobile, collecting model cars, attending auctions, camping, and spending quality time with his family. Jerry was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Wichita, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Orvilla Hardgrave Thomas; and a brother, Larry Gene Thomas and his wife, Lana.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Margo Thomas of the home; his five children, Brant Boyd and wife, Ladona, of Neosho, Missouri, Becky Newby and husband, Shane, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Christine Whittenburg of Duenweg, Missouri, Marty Thomas and wife, Mitzi, of Guthrie, Oklahoma and Kelly Thomas and wife, Stacy, of Goodman, Missouri; adopted son, Jeffrey Thomas and wife Veronica of Carthage, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Marissa Newby, Cale Newby, Tyler Thomas, Alexandria Thomas, Ashley Chaney, Tristen Whittenburg, Kalli Grady and Steven Grady; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Dorsey and husband, John, of Topeka, Kansas and Nancy Mowder of Wichita, Kansas; a stepbrother, W.R. Hardgrave and wife, Roseann, of Wichita, Kansas; a stepsister, Ruth Ann Shifflet and husband, Bob, of Florissant, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Mark Meador, Blackwell, Oklahoma, officiating. Burial will follow at the Blackwell Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
Honorary bearers will be Brant Boyd, Marty Thomas, Kelly Thomas, Shane Newby, Jeff Thomas, Eldon Smith, Cale Newby and Tyler Thomas.
