Janice Carroll Strub

October 27, 1935 – June 6, 2024

Janice Carroll Strub, 88 of Perry, Oklahoma, passed away on June 6, 2024, at her home surrounded by her children. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home of Perry, 1408 N 7th St, Perry, OK 73077. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Perry on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Burial will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Trout Funeral Home of Perry.

Janice was the daughter of Clarence and Verna (Meyer) Smith. She was born on October 27, 1935, in Orlando, Oklahoma. She was the valedictorian of Orlando High School class of 1953. Following graduation, she was employed by First National Bank where she worked for 42 years before her retirement in 1996. On June 28, 1968, she married the love of her life, Gary Strub at the First United Methodist Church in Orlando, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perry for over 50 years. Janice was avid bowler, and competed in many tournaments and leagues and was the Women’s State Champion in 1968. She loved to travel and visited 47 of the 50 states. She loved cooking and trying new recipes for family and friends. She was known by Aaron’s friends for making the best tacos and Texas sheet cake. She enjoyed collecting and displaying nativities scenes at Christmas. At last count, she displayed over 300.

Janice is survived by her two children, a son, Aaron Strub and Jack Conklin of Oklahoma City and her daughter, Allison Mulvany and husband, Tom of Oklahoma City; one sister, Shirley Beier of Perry; one brother, Delmar Smith of Orlando; sister-in-law, Lucille Petermann of Cushing; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Verna Smith; her husband, Gary Strub; sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Harry Petermann; brother-in-law, Marvin Beier; and sister-in-law, Raylene Smith.
