Janice Kay Bullock was born on March 26, 1942, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Ted and Mildred Bullock.
The Bullock family was lifelong members of the First Christian Church and Janice was baptized at the First Christian Church in Blackwell. She attended and graduated from Blackwell Public Schools. She married Bill Howard Bradford on March 30, 1957, in Wellington, KS. They later moved to Tonkawa, OK, where they raised their son, Brent.
Janice was employed for a number of years in the late 1960’s and 1970’s with the Tonkawa Public School system as the Secretary of Admissions and Jr./Sr. High Administrators. Janice adored her granddaughter, Taryn, taking a very active role in her life. Taryn married Matt Seddelmeyer, who Janice referred to as her “Grandson-in-love”. Janice cherished being a great-grandmother (GiGi) to Matt and Taryn’s daughter, Maryn. Family time was very important to Janice, and she cherished all of their family gatherings and vacations. Bill and Janice took many camping trips and she loved spending time at the lake. Janice loved writing and receiving cards for all occasions. She had a special talent of writing words and poetry to friends and relatives in her cards and always used multiple colors of ink.
Jan’s favorite hobby was going to Oklahoma Sooner football games with her family. She missed many Blackwell High School homecomings to attend the OU/Texas games in Dallas. When the time came she could no longer attend the games in person, she would faithfully watch on television and cheer. She was a dedicated and loving lady with a unique sense of humor, quick wit and caring smile.
Those cherishing her memory are her son, Brent Bradford and wife Joey of Jenks; one granddaughter, Taryn Seddelmeyer and husband Matt of Jenks; and one great granddaughter, Maryn Seddelmeyer of Jenks.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Ted and Mildred Bullock; and brother, Rev. Ron Bullock.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in her honor be made to the Blackwell First Christian Church c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 West Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
