James Michael O’Brien , age 26, of Ponca City, Oklahoma passed away March 24, 2021 in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 pm on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Trout Funeral Home Chapel in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Viewing will be held at Trout Funeral Home in Ponca City, Oklahoma on Tuesday, March 30th from 11 am to 8 pm. Face masks are required. James Michael O’Brien was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on Friday, January 13, 1995. He was 26 years old. His passions included his time with family, friends, and playing video games. He enjoyed his job at Discount Foods. He started working there after he graduated from Ponca City High School in 2013. He loved meeting new people from his job. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone he possibly could. He was loved by many for his kind words, open opinions, and his sense of humor. He loved the time that he spent with his nephew.

He is survived by: his father, James E. O’Brien and wife, Cora O’Brien; his mother, Leslie Hotard and fiancé, Steve Hamel; sister, Samantha O’Brien, and nephew Wyatt O’Brien. On his paternal side, he is survived by: his grandmother, Lynne Drake; uncle, Vince O’Brien; aunt Corie and Matthew Stolhand. On his maternal side he is survived by: his grandmother, Gail Edwards; aunt, Christy and Scott Daine; uncle Rolla and Stephanie Breedloave, uncle, Quinten Breedlove; aunt, Michelle and Terry Tudor; uncle, Daniel Breedlove, and numerous cousins, great aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers, James B. O’Brien, and Norman Drake, paternal great-grandparents, Nelson and Agnes Mathewson, maternal grandfather, Steven B. Breedlove, maternal Uncle Steven R. Breedlove, maternal great-grandparents, Nile and Deloris Butler and Rolla and Helen Breedlove, and maternal cousin Mathew James.
Casket bearers will be Arin Sieminskie Robert James, Christopher James, Drew Stolhand, Vince O’Brien, Matthew Stolhand and Wyatt O’Brien.
