August 30, 1980 – June 24, 2023

Jacob Grant Allen Shoop, age 42, formally of Perry, passed away on June 24, 2023 in Dallas, Texas.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 PM on Friday, June 30, 2023 at the First Christian Church in Perry, Oklahoma with brother Mark Schardein officiating. Jacob will be laid to rest at Grace Hill Cemetery following the service. Viewing and family visitation will be at Trout Funeral Home of Perry on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home of Perry, 1408 N 7th St, Perry, OK 73077.

Jacob was born on August 30, 1980 in (Perry, OK) to Vincent and Jamisue Shoop. He grew up in Perry and graduated from Perry High School in 1999. Jacob began his career in the computer field at very young age, beginning in his younger years, he would take any electronic apart, just to see how it worked. Jacob also enjoyed Oklahoma State University sports and was a devoted Texas Rangers fan, but his real passion was music. He spent several years on the road with different bands running sound and managing them. Jacob had a kind heart and an old soul, all though he could be stubborn, he would give you the shirt off his back if you asked. Jacob will truly be missed by everyone who knew him.

Survivors include: his parents, Vincent and Jamisue Shoop of Perry, OK; brother, Kenny Shoop and wife Marisa of Stillwater, OK; sister, Chasta McBlair and husband Calvin of Enid, OK; aunt, Pam Gierhart and husband Roger of Houston, TX; nieces, Cassandra and Brittany; nephews, Caleb, Brandon and Haden; two great nephews, Emilio and PJ; his loving friend, Kristen Burns of Arlington, TX; and many close friends and family.

Jacob is preceded in death by his grandparents, Norma Ewy Shoop Speer, Harry Joe Shoop, Wayne Speer, Kenneth Frazier, Irene Frazier, and Helen Frazier; Aunt, Jennifer Trosclair; and cousin, Emily Gierhart Yager.

Pallbearers will be Justin Williams, Brandon Vollmer, Brandon Yowell, Jos Stanley, Ryan Hale, Matt McGuire, Drew Filtz and Sergio Ruiz. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Heppler, Eric Edger, Gabe Gierhart, Richard Allen, Ryan Wooley, Collin McCullough and Cary McBride.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church youth group, 601 N 7th St, Perry, OK 73077.
