January 1, 1925 – August 31, 2018
Ima Jean Rowe, known to many as Jeanne, a long-time resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 at the Via Chisti Village located in Ponca City, Oklahoma on August 31, 2018. Loved ones were with her.
Ima Jean was born in Belle Plains, Kansas on January 1, 1925 to George Alfred Guinn and Lula May Guinn (Walton). She was one of 13 Guinn children. Jean loved good food, church, traveling and socializing. She was married to Delmas Eugene Rowe from Topeka, Kansas and raised three sons. The family moved to Tripoli, Libya for five years in the 1960s where Delmas worked for Oasis Oil Company. Jean’s family returned to Ponca City in 1967. Jean pursued a career as a salesperson in the real estate business in Ponca City and after earning her real estate license, she became broker of her own real estate firm, JRowe Real Estate. Jean dedicated her career to assisting many families in obtaining their homes and growing their lives in Ponca City and the surrounding counties, personally mentored many real estate agents and also served as the President of the Real Estate Board of Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Whether living in Kansas, Libya, or Oklahoma, Jean was a devoted and active member of the Church of Christ all her life.
Jean is survived by her son Patrick Eugene Rowe (of Texas) and son David Lee Rowe and his wife, Debbie Rowe (of Pennsylvania) and her daughter-in-law, Candy Rowe, wife of Danny Logan Rowe (of Oklahoma). She also is survived by her many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM, at the Church of Christ located at Hartford and Joe in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Trout Funeral Home of Ponca City, Oklahoma has been entrusted with final arrangements.
