Huey Don “Donnie Don” Turner, 56, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on December 16, 2022, at his home. Viewing will be from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Trout Funeral Home. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the Sweet Home Baptist Church in Fairfax, OK, with Rev. Ross officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Fairfax Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.
Donnie Don was born on March 24, 1966, in Tallulah, LA, to Albert, Sr., and Rubie Lee (Glasper) Turner. Don and the family moved to Oklahoma at the age of seven. He attended Fairfax Middle School and Ross Case High School, where he enjoyed playing basketball and running on the track team. After his early school years, he attended Oral Roberts University. He later met and married the love of his life, Mrs. Ollie Turner, on January 28, 1989. Don enjoyed life to the fullest. He often thought of himself as a lady’s man. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Don leaves to cherish his memories; his only son, Deon Coleman and his children, ; three brothers, Roosevelt Glasper, McKinley Turner and his twin brother, Joe Turner; six sisters, Rutha Rose, Daisy Turner-Unuigbey, Dolores Turner, Carolyn Turner, Paula Miller and Pamela Turner, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents; aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Wright; uncle, Joe Turner, sister, Connie Frye; brothers, Willie, Albert, and Robert Turner; four nephews, Brendon Turner, Bobby Turner, Oluruntoba, Jr., and Tommy Coleman, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Tony Miller and Toba Unuigbey, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Barry Harrison, Victor Miller, Chris Turner, Anthony Turner “YG”, Tyrone Coburn., and Ronnie Rogers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Folks, Joe Turner and Mack Perry, Nick Miller and Anthony Miller, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
