Helen Jane Hopkins
November 24, 1932 – September 26, 2017
Helen Jane Hopkins, age 84, Ponca City passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 peacefully at home with her family by her side.
Jane was born November 24, 1932 to Tilmon and Grace Gregg in Tenstrike, MN. Her family moved to Akeley, MN where she was an avid cheerleader and graduated from Akeley High School. Jane relocated to Bozeman, Montana where she met and married Melvin “Hop” Hopkins. They were married for 65 years up to his death in Dec. 2015. Jane was a true pipeliner’s wife and moved twenty-three (23) times and lived in seventeen (17) states as her husband moved with Continental Pipeline Company, always with a smile on her face. She lived twice in Ponca City, OK where she attended nursing school in Blackwell, OK, taught by the Felician sisters and received her LPN Certificate.
Jane was very outspoken and never met a stranger. She loved to visit with everybody. She was a proud parent, aunt and grandma. Jane is survived by son, Pat Hopkins and wife Laura, three grandchildren, Ashley Adams and her husband Relo, Ryan Hopkins and J.T. Hopkins and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tilmon & Grace Gregg, husband, M.E. Hopkins, sister, Sydney Jonas, and son, Michael E. Hopkins.
