Obituary for Harold Jarman

Harold Robert Jarman, age 89, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away April 7, 2014.
Harold was born on April 22, 1924 to Emmett H. and Zula G. Jarman in Woodward, Oklahoma. He grew up in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, graduating from Tonkawa High School in 1942. While Harold was in high school he worked with his father in custom combining, spanning from Texas to the Canadian border. He served three years in US Naval Aviation during WWII. He attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating in February 1949. Harold was accepted into the Continental Oil Company Junior Executive Program after graduation. He was employed at Conoco until his retirement in January 1989, where he was Manager of Facilities and Services. Harold enjoyed golf, was an avid fisherman and quail hunter. He was also a devoted Oklahoma University football and basketball fan. He was a master in woodworking, with a passion for intarsia, which is creating pictures in wood. These works are treasured by his family and friends.
He is survived by wife, Mary Sunshine Jarman; sister, Eva Lee Applegate, of Denver, Colorado; daughters, Sara Robinson and husband Max of Lewisville, Texas and Jeanne Maze of Fort Worth, Texas; granddaughters, Kelli Park and husband Scott of Coppell, Texas and Erin Siegel and husband Matt of Tucson, Arizona; and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Emmett and Zula; former wife, Gerry Jarman, and son-in-law Chuck Maze.
Visitation will be held at Trout Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 10, 2014, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2014, at the First Christian Church with Rev. Larry B. Metzger and Rev. Roberta Shaffer, officiating. A private family burial will be held preceding the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
