February 14, 1956 – July 21, 2023

Harold “Ben” Robin Sadler, age 67, resident of Ponca City, OK, passed away July 21, 2023, at his home in Ponca City, OK.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, 10:00 AM, August 12, 2023 at Crestview Baptist Church, 38 Indian Hills Rd, Ponca City, OK 74604 with Pastor Frank Hopkins officiating.

Ben was born on February 14, 1956 to Harold Alvin Sadler and Twilla (Mulhern) Sadler in St. Joseph, MO.

Ben was born to work with his hands as a mechanic. He was a mentor to many. He started in Waynesville, MO and St. Roberts, MO, and moved back to St. Joseph, MO, where he met his life partner and friend Joby Smith in 1981. They were married May 7, 1982, where the two made a home with their two children Tripper Lee and Nile Leslie in St. Joseph, MO. He and Joby moved to Ponca City in 1983 and have lived here since.

He was a mechanic at several service centers as well as went to automotive classes to learn more about the more modern cars. He was a tremendous fan of NASCAR, where he went to Talladega, Kansas, and Texas Motor Speedways. He and his wife loved going to music concerts and was good at telling silly stories. He loved to make people laugh. His customers became his friends.

Please think of some silly stories to share at his Celebration of Life. He will be greatly missed by all.

Ben is survived by his wife Joby Lynn (Smith) Sadler; son Tripper Lee Sadler of Kansas City, KS and wife Sarah Sadler of Smith Center, KS; daughter Nile Leslie Sadler Cranor and husband Jonathon Wayne Cranor of Chanute, KS; grandchildren Adrian VL Cranor, Dilan Cole Sadler, Ethan Lane Cranor, Brody Dean Sadler, Corban Wayne Cranor, Drake Lowell Sadler, Sutton Paige Sadler; and two great grandchildren Emerie Lee Kuhn and Everlie Ann Kuhn; sister Nancy Krabiel Schroff of Ark City, KS; brother David Allen Sadler of Des Moines, IA; brother-in-law Lyle Forrest Redmon of Ark City, KS; sister-in-law Julie Kay Smith Staggs of Agency, MO; brother-in-law Gregory Len Smith of St. Joseph, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father Harold Alvin Sadler and mother Twilla (Mulhern) Sadler; sister Lynda Marie Sadler Redman; brother John Douglas Sadler; step-father Lester Hope; and in-laws Leonard Amos Smith and Mary Joan Smith.
