Greg was born on June 20, 1969 to Jack and Gayle (Beasley) Jones in Ponca City, OK. Greg was raised in Ponca City before he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1988. While in the Air Force, he was stationed in New York where he had a fondness for the area. After his discharge, he remained in New York. However, his longing to be with family brought him back to the Ponca City area where he was raised. Greg had an affinity for computer electronics, which defined his career. As a Software developer for Lockheed Martin and IBM corp., he used his skills to create systems for the betterment of the companies and their customers. When he wasn’t working on his software projects, Greg enjoyed watching and playing Star Wars and the games associated, as well as Star Trek. Also, Greg was a regular at the karaoke spots where he would sing his heart out to good old outlaw country music. Friends and family were of the greatest importance to Greg. When he was able to entertain others and spend time with his loved ones he was most happy, especially when he was able to feed and pour some strong drinks in their glass. Greg will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his beloved daughter Dona Jones of Ponca City, significant other Kristine Riggs of Ponca City, father Jack Jones and wife Joan Shaw of Albuquerque, NM, sister Melanie Ramirez and husband Rodney of Ponca City, nieces and nephews, Abby Ramirez, Jared Murr, and Lucas Murr, grandchildren: Prudence and Robert Jones of Rome, NY.
