Glenn Ray Terrell of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Friday afternoon, March 23, 2018, in the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, at the age of 78 years.

Glenn Ray Terrell was born on September 23, 1939, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to James Nathan and Bertha Blanche (Alsdurf) Terrell. He grew up in Blackwell and attended Blackwell Public Schools graduating from Blackwell High School in 1958. Following his education he began working the Jack Bowker Dealership in Blackwell. In 1960 he began working for the City of Blackwell reading electric and water meters. He married Jane Ann Buellesfeld on April 6, 1979, in Blackwell and he continued working for the city where he became the purchasing agent. While working for city, he also worked as a security guard for Acme Foundry in Blackwell. He retired from the city after forty years of service. He then began working for the Wheatheart Nutrition Center driving the van for those needing transportation to lunch and delivering Meals-on-Wheels in Newkirk. He served the people of the nutrition center for eleven years. He was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a current member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He also served with the Kay County Sheriff’s Reserve. He enjoyed watching all sporting events, especially the Sooners, Royals and Thunder. He also enjoyed playing pitch and wahoo and loved being with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Terrell of Blackwell; two daughters, Rebecca Terrell and fiancé Brent of Blackwell and Sara Terrell of Blackwell; and a brother, Charles Terrell of Blackwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Butch Terrell; a sister, Elva Inmon; and a niece, Janet Inmon.

A prayer service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 27th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass is set for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 28th in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Ben Lwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Darrell Steelmon, Greg Sixkiller, Justin Huster, Jim Bartmess, Leland Lane and Cory Lane. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Vonnie Ireland, David Swain, Andy Miller, Curtis Bonewell, Wayne Purdy, George Glaze, Rusty Huster, Wade Huster, Brent Roberson, Richard Thomas, Frank Barrows and Leon Evans.

A memorial has been established in his honor with the American Heart Association in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
