Marion Glen ”Skeet” Baker, 72, passed away peacefully, March 21, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Skeet was born January 20, 1945 in Ponca City, Ok. He was the son of Johnny L Baker and Delsie A. Hall. Skeet joined the United States Army at a young age and was later honorably discharged. His occupations included carpentry and installing Heating and Air conditioning units for Lampe Heating and Air.
Skeet loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed motorcycles and was one of the founding members of the Redneck Motorcycle club, Ponca City chapter. He also enjoyed playing guitar and singing and was the lead singer for his band, Homegrown.
He is survived by his wife, Dorene Baker of Blackwell and his six children: Tony Baker of Kildare, Gary Baker of Ponca City, Toy Lane and husband Jared of Blackwell, Rhonda Veach and husband G.W. of Tonkawa, Angela Bowker and husband Jason of Coalgate, and Jesse Baker and wife Sarah or Kildare. Skeet also has 9 grandchildren: Kyle, Ericka, Joshua and Charity Bowker of Coalgate, Bradley and Kiley Veach of Tonkawa and Kaden, Arron and Liam Baker of Kildare. He is also survived by his sister, Darlene Baker.
Skeet is proceeded in death by his father and mother, Johnny and Delsie, step father, Bill Hall, sister, Marilyn Borden, brother, Merwyn ”Bub” Baker, and nephew Kenny Bo Baker.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at Kildare Baptist church in Kildare, Ok. Lunch will be served for the family at 12 pm with services beginning at 2 pm, followed by Skeets ”final ride” led by the Priesthood Motorcycle Ministry and Redneck MC.
