Glen Emil Salmon, 73, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on Saturday, June 4, 2022, in Oklahoma City, OK. Viewing will be from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Justin Pickup officiating. Cremation will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Glen was born on June 17, 1948, in Pattonsburg, MO, to Charley P. and Nora Frances (Savage) Salmon. After high school, Glen moved to Wichita, KS to live with his oldest brother and work for the board of education.
He was drafted into the Army, serving during the Vietnam War. During this time he met his wife, Glenna “Sue” Thomas and they were married June 1, 1968, in Haysville, KS. After serving in the army, he graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma (formerly Central State University) in Edmond, OK. He and Sue owned and operated a motorcycle shop in Ponca City for over 30 years. He loved riding motorcycles with friends. He looked forward to hanging out with his breakfast buddies every morning. Glen was also a member of the American Legion, Post 14.
Glen is survived by his daughter, Bobbie Chadwick and her husband, Len, of Kingfisher, OK; he loved him like a son, Clayton Schultz and his wife, Afton, of Ponca City, OK grandchildren, Sydney Jones, of Weatherford, OK, Lacie and Ray Belcher, of Edmond, OK, Megan and Colby Miller, of Weatherford, OK; 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Edrie Salmon, of Derby, Ks, sister-in-law Jackie and her husband, Vince, of Oklahoma City; brother-in-law, Joe and his wife, Marie of Jackson GA; several other family members and friends.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue; siblings, Darryl Salmon, Betty Hurd, and Sandra Walker.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Almack, James Hambleton, Lee Evans, Dr. Richard Kiem, Doug MacDonnell, Tom Quillin, Jerry Allensworth, Jim Owens, Kyle Davis, Paul Chavez, Cory Benson and all the friends from the motorcycle shop and great rides!
