George Walter Qualls, age, 68, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away January 6, 2015.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, 10:00 am, January 9, 2015 at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Waterloo and Pastor David Bosworth officiating. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, 1:15 pm, January 13, 2015 at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
George was born on June 12, 1946 to Raymond Ray and Ruby Mae Shepherd Qualls in Spearman, TX. After high school he joined the Navy serving in Vietnam. Following his military service, he attended seminary and began helping at his church, leading Sunday School classes and helping with worship services. He was married to Peggy Jean Bynum on May 29, 1070 in White Settlement, Texas. He worked as a maintenance worker for Conoco as well as other businesses around town. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. George enjoyed the simple things in life and could be found fishing, shooting, bartering and ensuring his possession of the remote control for the TV.
Survivors include his beloved wife Peggy Qualls, children: Jonathan Qualls and wife Melissa of Tonkawa, Justina Whittington and husband Robert of Ponca City, Paul Qualls and wife Melissa of Ponca City, and Tony Qualls of Ponca City; sister, Rhetta Davis of Apex North Carolina; grandchildren Rebecca Qualls, Katelyn Qualls, Haley Whittington, Bryanna Qualls, Brystol Qualls, Ethan Qualls and numerous friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Florine, infant brother, and infant daughter Melissa Ann.
