Obituary for George Atwood

George Atwood of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died Tuesday afternoon, June 16, 2015, in the Willow Haven Nursing Home in Tonkawa at the age of 50 years.
George Atwood was born on October 22, 1964, in Ponca City to Leslie and Deloris Pearl (Anderson) Atwood. He grew up in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School. Following his education he received training as a welder and worked for Bliss Industries, Mertz and Ponca Machine. He married Debbie Deakins in 1985 in Newkirk. He enjoyed music, especially playing the guitar, riding motorcycles, fishing and working on cars.
He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Atwood and husband Trey Depperschmidt of Ponca City and Rachel Atwood of Ponca City; an aunt, Barbara Jean White of Ponca City; an uncle, Michael Anderson of Ponca City; a granddaughter, Alexandrea Anthony of Ponca City; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Randy Evans.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 22nd in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Chaplain Tom Howard of Hospice of North Central Oklahoma officiating.
Honorary casketbearers will be Charles Taylor, Chris Yozzo and Mike Pendergraft.
