Obituary for Gay Mead

Gay Nell Mead, age 53, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away October 26, 2014, in Oklahoma City.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, October 29, 2014 at the Trout Funeral Home & Crematory in Ponca City. Cremation will follow the funeral service. Honorary casket bearers will be Calvin McBlair, Josh McBlair, Doakes Bible, and Bill Bible. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Gay was born on December 10, 1960 to Clayton Ely and Earlene Buffington Ely in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She was married to Steve A. Mead on August 3, 1996 in Red Rock, Oklahoma. Gay enjoyed making stained glass pictures and fishing whenever she could.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Mead, of Guthrie; siblings: Deb Jefferson and husband Tim of Pawnee, Oklahoma; Lois Davis and husband Glen of Durant, Oklahoma; Bernard Ely of Taft, Oklahoma; and Keith Ely of Red Rock, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and her beloved cats. Preceding her in death were here parents, son, Dustin Lewis, sisters: Pamela Bible and Andrea Davis.
