Obituary for Floyd Iron

Floyd Iron, resident of Ponca City, OK, passed away March 16, 2015. He was 68.
A Traditional Noon Feast will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 at the home, followed by a burial at the Ponca Indian Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Floyd was born on May 13, 1946 to Levi and Sylvia LeClair Iron. He grew up in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1964. Floyd was a great student and a great football player. After high school he went to play football at Haskell Jr. College then went to Northern Oklahoma College for Accounting. Later Floyd joined the US Army and was part of the 45C Green Beret as Sergeant.
He enjoyed his family and friends. Floyd liked to golf, play pool and enjoyed Blues Music.
Floyd is survived by five children Mrs. Andrea Buckhorn of Tahlequah, OK; Chrissy Iron of Ponca City; Floyd David Iron and wife of Pawhuska, OK; Levi Matthew Iron of Ponca City, OK; and Edward Iron and wife of Tulsa OK. Also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, Sister, Loretta Iron Mirabal of Taos, NM; Aunt Cynthia Ahtone and nephew Nakia White Iron of Bartlett, TN. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, aunties, and a host of friends.
Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Richard "Tony" Anthony Iron and Chissoe David Iron. His Uncles, Wallace Iron, Clifford Walkingsky, Paul Walkingsky, Chuck Red Bear and Son Sonny Red Bear. Aunts Yvonne Iron and Sylvia Curly.
Casketbearers will be Hugh Brown, J.R. Brown, Pete Buffalohead, Earl Brown, Edward Wilson, Julio Mirabal, and Tecumsha Smith. Honorary Casketbearers will be Dermon Bard, Collin Vann, Chase Vann, Garret Iron, Jeremy Iron, Toby Henderen, Obie Iron, Owen Iron, and Otto Iron.
