Floyd Hildebrand of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Thursday morning, December 22, 2016, at his home at the age of 80 years.

Floyd Hildebrand was born on July 9, 1936, in Perry, Oklahoma, to Fannet and Elsie (Cruse) Hildebrand. He was confirmed in the Arkansas City Lutheran Church in 1950. He attended Geuda Springs Public Schools, Geuda Springs, Kansas, and graduated with the class of 1954. He furthered his education by attending Oklahoma State University. He married Betty Ruth Bay on January 26, 1957, in Christ Lutheran Church in Perry, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army from September 1958 through April 1959 and was a member of the Army Reserve for eight years afterward. He was a member of the Blackwell Trinity Lutheran Church and was an office holder, elder and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a member of the Blackwell Rotary and served as president in 1978-1979. Floyd worked for Schlumberger in Enid beginning in 1959. He later worked for International Harvester in Enid and Ponca City and later transferred to Blackwell to manage their new parts department. Floyd also worked as office manager/comptroller and later co-owner of Acme Foundry from 1967 to 1992 before working as office manager at ConAgra from 1992 to 2002. He also helped manage the Super 8 Motel with his wife Betty for many years. He was a member of the Blackwell Tourism Board and Blackwell Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, working with numbers, playing bridge and various card games. He loved spending time with and taking care of his family.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Hildebrand of Blackwell; three sons, Darren Hildebrand of Washington, D.C., Byron Hildebrand and wife Pamn of Blackwell, and Justin Hildebrand and wife Keely of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; two grandchildren, Genevieve and Eric Hildebrand of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and four brothers, Clarence Hildebrand of Perry, Oklahoma, Dale Hildebrand of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Glen Hildebrand of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Melvin Hildebrand of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 29th in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blackwell with Rev. Ned Moerbe officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma.

Casketbearers will be Melvin Hildebrand, Glen Hildebrand, Vance Hildebrand, Vivian Hildebrand, Gloria Bonfy, and Stacy Haskins. Honorary casketbearers will be Clarence Hildebrand, Dale Hildebrand, Buddy Bonfy, Jonathan Hildebrand, Delbert Peters, Neal Kahle, Norman Deffner, and Cecil Sodowsky.
