Everett Vernon Brown
(September 10, 1931 – January 29, 2016)
Everett Vernon Brown of Ponca city went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, January 29, 2016.
He was born September 10, 1931 to Elmer Carrol & Oleta Brown of Chelsea, OK. He spent 3 years in the U.S. Army stationed in Japan. After being discharged from the Army, he spent 7 years working in the oil field. He was a truck driver for over 50 years and 27 of those years were spent driving for Acord Trucking out of Chandler, OK. He also taught his wife Lois Brown to drive a truck and they drove as a team for Acord. After retiring from Acord, he volunteer 4 years at the Ponca City Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Lois Brown. He had 3 children: one son, Larry Brown & wife Anna of Tulsa, two daughters, Brenda Colombin and her husband Danny of Okmulgee, Beverly Loney & her husband Kevin of Ponca City.
He had 8 grandchildren, Jane Ann Berry, Glenn Taylor, Casta Mordecai, Shaylin Williams, Dustin Gillespie, Heather Humphrey, Geoff Loney and Betsy Loney, 9 great grandchildren, Reagan and Cadence Mordecai, Ben and Brady Humphrey, Jayden Loney, Jackson Loney and Hudson, and Grayson and Arleigh Williams.
He had one sister Elizabeth Frye and her husband Clifford of Chelsea, OK and one brother Carrol Lee Brown and wife Jamie of Sapulpa, OK. He also had many nieces and nephews. Everett was a member of St Luke’s Nazarene Church for 30 years where he will be missed by all his church family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family or St. Luke’s Church in his name.
