Eva Ann Wooderson
May 22, 1934 – January 28, 2022
Eva Wooderson left this world to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 28, 2022. Eva Ann (Reinking) Wooderson was born May 22, 1934 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Jesse and Ineva Reinking. She grew up in Nardin, Oklahoma, until the family moved to Blackwell in 1941. She graduated from Blackwell High School where she was very active in the music program. After graduation she went on to Oklahoma A & M (OSU) as a music major. Eva married Dale Wooderson on November 21, 1952, and they began their life together farming and ranching north of Blackwell. Later they moved southwest of Blackwell.
While raising three children, Eva supported her husband in every way, preparing food to take to the fields, running for parts, or whatever was needed. As a mother of three children involved in many activities including sports, music, cheer, 4-H, Vo-Ag, and school functions, she was their mainstay as her husband worked long hard hours.
Eva loved music and considered that to be her ministry to God and the church, be it choir, handbells, or solos. She had a beautiful voice and played the piano for her Sunday School Class. Dale said she filled their home with music every day. She was also involved in church leadership roles, serving on several committees.
Eva also had many friends and enjoyed socializing with weekday morning coffees, a women’s bowling league, playing cards, and the Sassy Steppers square dance group with Dale.
She is survived by a sister, Sharon Mason and husband Glen of Bartlesville; a son, Steve Wooderson and wife Beverly of Blackwell; two daughters, Cheryl Finch and husband James of Oklahoma City, and Dana Terry and husband Garland of Chickasha; seven grandchildren, Kyle Wooderson (Trisha) of Grove, Drew Wooderson of Blackwell, Laura Sappenfield (Andrew) of Blackwell, Alissa Fleming (William) of Edmond, Tyler Finch (Bethany) of Edmond, Zane Terry (Sierra) and Jesse Terry of Chickasha; and eleven great grandchildren.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; and her parents.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 5th at the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Daniel Rickman officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the First United Methodist Church in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
