Eunice Evelyn Wittum

Eunice Evelyn Wittum of Braman, Oklahoma, died Thursday, September 28, 2017, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell at the age of 99 years.
Eunice Evelyn Wittum was born on November 18, 1917, in Braman to Henry Blaine and Belle (Marlow) Wise. She grew up in Braman and attended Braman Grade School before moving with her family to South Haven, Kansas, where she graduated from South Haven High School in 1935. Following her education she married Herman Edward Wittum on November 26, 1935, in Wichita, Kansas. They moved to Colorado, Kentucky and Cushing, Oklahoma, where his job took them. She served her family as a homemaker. In 1944, they returned to the Hunnewell, Kansas area, where he assisted his family with their farming operation. In 1951 they moved to their current farm. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 24, 1987, and she continued living on the farm until June of 2017, when she moved to the nursing home in Blackwell. She was a member of the South Haven Christian Church. She was an active member of the South Haven Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and the Friendly Neighbor H.D. Club. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, painting landscapes and decorated many cakes for family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Marylyn Weller and husband Wayne of Clay Center, Kansas, and Karen Wittum of the home; four grandchildren, Brenda Hageberg and Rick Buellesfeld of Blackwell, Randy Bergman and wife Linda of Columbus, Georgia, Brian Bergman and wife Cecelia of Clay Center, Kansas, and Justin Weller and wife Randi of Clay Center, Kansas; twelve great-grandchildren; eight great-great- grandchildren; and many close friends, including the Buellesfeld Family.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and ten brothers and sisters, Lawrence Wise, Rex Wise, Wid “Junior” Wise, Lee Wise, Marie Sutton, Lelia Strader, Ray Stacy, Bernice Lengkeek, Ruby Strickland and an infant sibling.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 2nd in the South Haven Christian Church with Rev. Darren Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in South Haven.
Casketbearers will be Randy Bergman, Brian Bergman, Justin Weller, Garrett Bergman, Tray Hageberg and Jim Kincaid. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Floyd Mowbray and Rick Buellesfeld.
