Elizabeth J. Plumer, 96, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on May 25, 2024. A Private Committal Service is being held at the Newkirk Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave., Ponca City, OK, 74601.
Elizabeth was born on January 2, 1928, in Little Falls, MN, to John and Julia (Biermier) Riemer, the fourth of nine children. She worked from 1945-1965, for Santa Fe Railroad in the communications department at various locations between Chicago, IL, and Arkansas City, KS, beginning in Chicago. From 1966-1975, Elizabeth worked as a secretary to managers of military contracts at Strother Field, KS.
Elizabeth married Harold H. Plumer on July 1, 1951, in Ponca City, OK, and made Newkirk, OK, their first home. They lived in several places in Kansas, Iowa, and Illinois. They moved to Ponca City, in 1987, after Harold’s retirement from the Santa Fe Railroad in Chicago. She enjoyed bowling on leagues in Naperville, IL, and Ponca City. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and making quilts for grandchildren.
Elizabeth is survived by: daughters, JoAnn Ghram and her husband, David, of Wichita, KS, and Jana Lee Roberts of Topeka, KS; grandson, Joshua Ghram and his wife, Noelle; granddaughters, Jennifer Keeton and her husband, Blake, Elizabeth Crayton and her husband, Mike, Candace Meinholdt and her husband, Derek; great-granddaughters, Celestine Koerner, Jayda Ghram, Tinsley Meinholdt, Paisley Meinholdt, PresleyKeeton, Paige Keeton and Parker Keeton; great-grandson, Jace Ghram. She is also survived by her sisters, Dorothy Feakes of Forsyth, MT, Jeanette Kotula of Maplewood, MN and brother, Fred J. Riemer of Phoenix, AZ.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by: her husband, Harold; mother, Julia and father, John; brothers, Joseph Riemer, Thomas Riemer and Lonnie Riemer; sisters, Christine Brown and Bernadine Waldorf.
