Obituary for Edgardo Zepeda

Edgardo Rigoberto Zepeda or “Caco” to those of us who had the joy to be surrounded by him went to be with God and finally joined his parents on July 17, 2015. He was born December 7, 1958 to Maria Consuelo Candray and Domingo Contreras Zepeda in San Salvador, El Salvador the youngest of four siblings.He spent his first fifteen years in El Salvador and then moved to the United States, residing the majority of his life in Los Angeles, California and his last four years in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Edgardo was exceptionally and lovingly cared for by his middle sister Zoila along with his other siblings, sister-in-law, nieces/nephews and extended family who always included him in any activities and outings. Although he had what would be deemed a limited mental capacity, he did manage to graduate from Lanterman Regional Center with a high school diploma and continued his education at BCR. Caco always found pleasure in his favorite activities which included sitting on the passenger seat of car for a ride to anywhere, bowling which rewarded him many championship trophies, fourwheeling, dancing (he could outdo anyone), attending parties and listening to music on his latest walkman, and his most favorite: coloring with his hundreds of bits of crayola crayons and stacks of coloring book pages. He was a great fan of Coca-Cola, Disneyland and Mickey Mouse, and the color yellow.
He is survived by his siblings Yolanda Villanueva, Zoila Flores and Oscar Zepeda Sr., sister-in-law Teresa Alvarado, nieces Josie Zepeda, Jenny Dickinson, Cynthia Zepeda, Crystal Zepeda, nephews Oscar Zepeda Jr and Danny Zepeda great nieces Gia Dickinson, Ava Dickinson, great nephews, Danny Zepeda, and Luke dickinson. and large extended family both in United States and El Salvador.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday July 25th 2015, at Trout Funeral Home with Rev. Larry King presiding. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. In honor of Caco’s memory, the family requests (if possible) to wear an informal yellow shirt. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to BCR “a place to grow”, 230 E. Edgardo Rigoberto Zepeda o "Caco" a aquellos de nosotros que tuvieron el placer de estar rodeado de el, dio él pasó a estar con Dios y finalmente se unió a su madre y su padre el 17 de julio de 2015. Édgardo nació en Diciembre 7, 1958 a Maria Consuelo Candray y Domingo Contreras Zepeda en San Salvador, El Salvador, el más joven de cuatro hermanos. Pasó sus primeros quince años en El Salvador y luego se trasladó a los Estados Unidos, donde residio la mayoría de su vida en Los Ángeles, California, y sus últimos cuatro años en Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Edgardo fue excepcionalmente y amorosamente cuidado por su hermana Zoila junto con sus otros hermanos, cunada, sobrinas y sobrinos y familia extendida que siempre lo incluyó en todas actividades y excursiones. A pesar de que tenia una capacidad mental limitada, el logro graduarse de Centro Regional Lanterman con un diploma de escuela secundaria y continuó su educación en (BCR).
Caco siempre encontraba placer en sus actividades favoritas que incluia sentarse en el asiento del pasajero del coche para un viaje a cualquier lugar, boliche que le recompenso muchos trofeos, manejando vehiculos de todoterreno, bailando (que podía superar a cualquier), asistiendo a las fiestas y escuchando música en su walkman, y su mas favorito pasatiempo: coloriando con sus montones de pedacitos de crayolas y pilas de paginas de libros de colorear. Él era un gran fanático de la Coca-Cola, Disneyland y Mickey Mouse y el color amarillo.
Le sobreviven sus hermanos Yolanda Villanueva, Zoila Flores y Oscar Zepeda, cunada Teresa Alvarado,sus sobrinas Josie Zepeda, Jenny Dickinson, Cynthia Zepeda, y sobrinos Oscar Zepeda Jr sobrinas nietas Gia Dickionson, Ava Dickinson y sobrinos neitos Danny Zepeda y Luke Dickinson y su gran familia extendida en los Estados Unidos y El Salvador.
Un servicio conmemorativo se celebrará a las 11de la mañana, Sábado 25 julio 2015, en la Funeraria Trout con Rev. Larry King que preside. Sepultura se realizará en Resthaven Drive Cementerio Parque Memorial. En honor de su memoria, la familia pide (si es posible) vestir con camiseta amarilla informal.
