Earnest Dwayne Wilson of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday afternoon, July 8, 2018, in the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 68 years.
Earnest Dwayne Wilson was born on June 1, 1950, in Blackwell to Lawrence Neil and Shirley Darlene (Tilton) Wilson. He grew up in Blackwell and attended Blackwell Public Schools graduating with the class of 1968. He furthered his education by attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where he earned a bachelor’s degree. While in college he married Carma Reynolds and they made Stillwater their home. Following his education he began managing Co-ops throughout Nebraska and Oklahoma. He later married Evelyn Warden on June 1, 1985, in Dodge City, Kansas. He ended his career managing the Co-op in Marland, Oklahoma. Following his retirement he began working part-time at Lowe’s in Ponca City. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Oklahoma State Alumni Association and enjoyed Cowboy athletics. His love was roping and attending and competing in rodeos.
He is survived by his companion, Spicy Dunn of Ponca City; a step-daughter, Nicole Mazerac of Kansas; a step-son, Cody Warden of Buckland, Kansas; two sisters, Paula Wilson of Newkirk and Lori Davis and husband Richard of Edmond; and six step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Amber Wilson.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 11th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with James W. Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in his honor with the American Heart Association in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
