August 26, 1975 – March 27, 2018

Dustin Kell Schmidt, former resident of Ponca City, OK passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in Thornton, CO. He was 42 years old.

Dustin was born on August 26, 1975 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to his parents, Paula Schmidt Crisp and Gary Minter. He grew up in Ponca City graduating from Ponca City High School in 1994. When he was younger, Dustin enjoyed playing all kinds of sports in school especially baseball. He developed a passion for playing guitar and singing when he was in middle school and continued playing after moving to New Orleans. He played and sang in numerous bands while in New Orleans and Oklahoma and lived for karaoke with his friends. In addition to his musical talent, Dustin was also a skilled auto mechanic. He enjoyed watching football, mainly OU and the New Orleans Saints, as well as working out at the gym. After moving to Colorado, Dustin worked as a warehouse supervisor for Claremont Foods.

Dustin is survived by his mother, Paula Crisp of Ponca City, step-father, Mike Crisp of Ponca City, sister, Tiffany Meyer and husband Dustin of Ponca City, two nieces, Kaylee and Brianna Meyer of Ponca City, girlfriend, Vicki Branaghan of Thornton, Colorado, great aunt, Betty Robinson of Tonkawa, uncle, Billy Minter and wife, Nancy Minter of Tulsa, Oklahoma, aunt, Linda (Minter) Wegener, and husband, Steve of Tempe, Arizona, aunt, Lisa (Minter) Sidbury and husband Mick of Marion, TX step-brother, Todd Crisp and wife Melanie and their children Emma and Evan of Houston, TX, step-sister, Lisa Burnam and husband Matthew of Golden, Colorado, as well as numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Minter, grandfather, William J. Schmidt, grandmother, Gladys J. Schmidt, aunt, Mary Ann Schmidt, grandmother, Ramona Minter, and grandfather, Jesse Emmett Minter, Jr .

A memorial ceremony for Dustin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Trout Funeral Home Chapel in Ponca City, OK.

Memorial donations in Dustin’s honor may be made to the Ponca City Humane Society, 900 W. Prospect, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Dustin was such a kind hearted and very loving person. He loved spending time with his friends and family who will miss him deeply.
