Obituary for Dr. Jack Dean

Dr Jack Fredrick Dean, 90, who called Ponca City home, passed away on July 8, 2014 in Dallas, TX. He was born on November 16, 1923 in Ponca City to mother Lula May Adair Dean and father Herman Dean who worked at the Conoco refinery. They preceded him in death along with his first wife Lucille, and second wife Beatrice.
Jack was a Coast Guard veteran and a member of the Shriners and Free Masons. He enjoyed going on camping excursions and traveling, especially with his lifelong friend Dorris Darling.
When Jack was a young boy, he and his family had a band where they played for the local radio station and at different venues. He played the ukulele and the bass fiddle. Jack earned his Doctorate of Oral Surgery and had his own practice in Dallas, Texas where he practiced for 54 years.
Jack is survived by his children, Jack, Mary and Lisa of the Dallas area. His extended family includes grandchildren; Justin, Crystal, Jonny, Michael, Colby and Hannah. He was also a proud great grandfather to 6 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10am on Friday July 11, 2014 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Ponca City with Chaplain Tom Howard from Hospice of North Central Oklahoma officiating.
