Dorothy E. Hammett, 86, former Ponca City resident, left this life on May 29, 2021, in Wichita, KS. A Graveside Ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 4, 2021, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Ponca City, OK, with Tom Howard officiating. Viewing will take place at the graveside. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Dorothy was born on February 11, 1935, in St. Joseph, MO, to Archie V. and Lula (Roach) Hunt. She married Donald E. Hammett on March 12, 1951. He passed away September 28, 2014.

Dorothy and Donald attended many Senior Citizen Dances in the area. Dorothy was a wonderful, fun-loving, down to Earth woman. She was very nurturing and had a green thumb. She loved YouTube, golf and college football. Especially OSU and OU. A true Oklahoman at heart. Dorothy loved to make biscuits & gravy every Sunday, always a family favorite. Dorothy was a great person and will be truly missed by many.

She is survived by her children; Luther G. Hammett, Jerry D. Hammett and Eva M. Hoover; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and other family members and friends.
