Donna Kay Teer of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away early Friday morning, August 11, 2023, in the O.U. Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 65 years.
Donna Kay Teer was born on October 6, 1957, in Blackwell to Donald Ray and Shirley Mae (Arnold) Mayden. She grew up and attended Blackwell Public Schools through kindergarten when she moved to Braman graduating in 1975. On July 18, 1975, she married Ronnie Dean Teer in Blackwell and they made Blackwell their home. She worked at various jobs in Blackwell including Paul’s Grill and Graves Drug before beginning a forty-year career with Blackwell Wal-Mart. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Vacation Bible School and children’s church while her girls were growing up. She enjoyed cake decorating and if there was a birthday or special occasion Donna would make the cake. She also baked various items for church funerals and benefits such as Children’s Miracle Network and Relay for Life. She enjoyed sewing, making special outfits for her daughter’s favorite Cabbage Patch doll and matching dresses for Easter. Her love and passion was her family, especially her four grandchildren, Kale, Mason, Mila and Grayson.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Teer of Blackwell; her mother, Shirley Mayden of Blackwell; two daughters, Dessa Hunter and husband Michael and Cassandra Diaz and husband Jimmy all of Blackwell; a sister, Shirley Blunk and husband Mike of Blackwell; three brothers, Carl Mayden of Blackwell, Darrell Mayden of Stillwater, and James Mayden and wife Lori of Newkirk; a sister-in-law, Connie Glaze and husband David of Norman and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Don Mayden; grandparents, George and Velma Arnold; In-laws, Jesse and Vivian Teer; and sister-in-law, Linda Mayden.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 15th in the First Baptist Church with James W. Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Serving as casketbearers will be Chad Brown, Micheal Blunk, Jeremy Lott, Brad Stafford, Greg Hurst and Ron Conrad.
A memorial has been established in her honor with Children’s Miracle Network, 205 West 700 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101.
