Obituary for Donald Bouldin

Donald Roy Bouldin, resident of Ponca City, OK, died Friday, January 31, 2014 at home unexpectedly. He was 80 years old.
A memorial service will be held at 1:20 pm, Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Smith, Pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Don was born on May 11, 1933 to LeRoy Bouldin and Thelma (Alexander) Bouldin in Oklahoma City, OK. He attended Oklahoma A & M (OSU). He was married to Carol Lackey Dyer on July 12, 1976. Don was a builder, developer and sod farmer. He enjoyed golf, fishing, boating, hunting and traveling. He was an instrument rated private pilot and a really good chef. Most of all, he loved people. He was a gifted caring conversationalist.
He was a humble man, involved in a number of community projects. He has been a member of the Methodist church for the past 3 years and prior had deep roots in the First Presbyterian Church for over 35 years. For 50 years he built houses in Oklahoma City, Edmond, Ponca City, Bartlesville, Claremore, Guymon and Borger, Texas. He developed land in Edmond, Bartlesville, Guymon and Ponca City. He owned sod farms in Tonkawa. He loved his standing 1:20 tee time with his Ponca City Country Club Golf buddies and the 5 o’clock tradition with wonderful neighbors and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Bouldin, two daughters Donna Parker and her husband Mark of Coyle, OK, Lynn Redwine and her husband Kevin of Tulsa, two sons Joe Bouldin of Wewoka, OK, and Whit Dyer and his wife Nichole of Tulsa and Italian exchange student, Livio DeCarlo of Rome. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kylie and her husband Trooper John Vincent, Stephanie and husband Dan Jentz, Jodi Evenson, Brandon Bouldin and wife Sara, Trooper Coleman Parker and wife Jen, Blake Redwine and wife Leila and Rob Redwine. He has eleven great grandchildren, sister Gloria Johnson of Arlington, Texas, brother-in- law Frank Lackey and wife Karin of Tulsa, four nieces and nephew Brad Johnson, life-long friends Russ Roberts and Don Glosser; and, of course, his faithful paper- thief dog Jake.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Ponca City, the Pioneer Technology Center Foundation, or the charity of your choice .
