Dixie Lee Keele
(November 14, 1937 – December 30, 2017)
Dixie Lee Keele of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Saturday morning, December 30, 2017, at her home at the age of 80 years.
Dixie Lee Keele was born on November 14, 1937, in St Joseph, Missouri, to Oscar and Caroline (Aspey) Bruner. She grew up in St. Joseph and attended Lafayette High School. Following her education she began working for the Whitaker Cable of the American Motors Division. She married Larry Thomas Keele on May 23, 1974, in St. Joseph and they settled in Baldwin Park, California, where she served her family as a homemaker. They later moved to Riverton, Wyoming, before moving to Blackwell in March of 2000. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and reading.
She is survived by four sons, Arnold Silvey of Aransas Pass, Texas, Allen Silvey of Blackwell, Terry Silvey of Blackwell, and Richard Roland Jr. of Ellsworth, Wisconsin; a sister, Hazel Beck of Kingman, Arizona; and three brothers, James Bruner of 29 Palms, California, Glen Bruner of Nebraska, and Ronnie Bruner of Arizona; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Helen Bowden; and five brothers, David, Oscar Jr., Harold, Neal and Gerald Bruner.
At her request there will be no services following cremation.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the Blackwell Veterans of Foreign Wars in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
